The 6.5 to 8.0 Jump: Why Your Business Is Invisible to AI Search.

Learn how Torrevie doubled its AI search visibility score from 4.5 to 8.0 in one session. Discover AEO strategies for UAE and KSA businesses.
The Invisible Business: Why Your GCC Enterprise is Missing from AI Search
If a prospect asks ChatGPT, "Who are the top operations consultants in Dubai?" and your name does not appear, you are not just losing a lead. You are becoming invisible to the next generation of business research.
At Torrevie, we decided to be our own first client for Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO). We ran a baseline audit on our own digital footprint to see how AI models like Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini perceived us.
The result was a sobering 6.5 out of 10.
Despite eighteen years of secondary data and a solid local reputation, the "Answer Engines" were struggling to cite us with confidence. We were a victim of the same "Visibility Gap" facing thousands of businesses across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
One focused session later, we moved that score to 8.0. Here is how we did it and why it matters for your 2026 strategy.
The Shift from Search to Answers
For two decades, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was about keywords and backlinks to win a spot on page one of Google. But the world has changed. Decision-makers in the GCC are increasingly using AI assistants to filter options.
SEO targets a list of links. AEO targets the single, definitive answer the AI provides.
When we scored a 6.5, it was because our data was unstructured. We had the experience, the case studies, and the results, but they were buried in PDFs and narrative blog posts that AI models found "low-confidence."
The Three Pillars of the 6.5 to 8.0 Jump
To double our visibility score, we focused on three specific operational changes:
1. Building the 'Truth Set' (llms.txt) AI crawlers look for a specific file called llms.txt at the root of a website. It functions like a map for Large Language Models. We created a structured, markdown-optimised summary of our services, credentials, and geographic focus (Dubai, Riyadh, and the broader GCC). This gave the models a high-confidence anchor to reference.
2. Optimised FAQ Schema We identified the ten most common questions our prospects ask — not just "what we do," but "how we compare" and "what our ROI looks like." By publishing these as Schema-marked FAQ pairs, we provided the direct "Question and Answer" fragments that AI engines love to cite as a primary source.
3. Authority Statements and Geography Tokens AI models rely heavily on social proof and location data to determine relevance. We updated our core site content to include "Authority Statements" — specific, measurable results like our 40 percent inventory reduction case study — and anchored them to specific GCC geographies.
Why This Matters for GCC COOs and Founders
Dubai’s D33 and Saudi Vision 2030 are drawing a global wave of investors and partners into the region. These new players do not have twenty-year-old local networks. They have AI.
If you are a manufacturer in Jebel Ali or a logistics provider in Riyadh, your "local reputation" only exists to an AI if it is cited in a format the model understands.
A high AEO score means being the first name mentioned when a prospect is in the research phase. A low score means you are waiting for a phone call that is already going to your competitor.
We fixed our visibility in one session. We can do the same for yours.
